Assoluti d'Italia Enduro 2018 - Passirano

In Passirano (BS) Christophe Charlier made his debut with the Beta Factory Enduro Team and conquered a good fourth position in the Assoluta and a second place in the Foreigners class.

On Sunday, February 25, in Passirano, a small town located in the wine area of Franciacorta, was held the first act of the Assoluti d’Italia di Enduro weblog 2018.

The race weekend was characterized by bad weather: icy cold and an heavy snowfall during the last lap.

Christophe Charlier has faced a race with five special tests to repeat four times and an overnighter race, on Saturday evening, for nineteen PS.

He started without pushing too much but changed his rhythm from the second lap by recording excellent absolute times. During the fourth lap, however, Christophe Charlier made a mistake in the Extreme special test losing several seconds and the third place overall.

The new entry of the Beta Factory Enduro Team, in addition to the fourth place in the Assoluta, conquered also an excellent second place in the Foreigners class.

Despite the misfortune, Christophe showed a good feeling with the Beta RR 390 4T and the conditions for a good season are there.

At the same time, Steve Holcombe raced a round of the Finnish Enduro Championship. The English rider conquered the second position on the E3 class and fourth overall. This result makes him confident about the first WEC race in Finland.

In March, all the Beta Factory Team, Christophe Charlier and the reigning World Champion Steve Holcombe, will move to Finland for the first round of the Enduro World Championship (March 16th and 17th) and on Sunday, March 25th will take place the second round of the Assoluti d’Italia di Enduro in the famous city of Sanremo.

"In Passirano it was a challenging weekend for the many special tests we raced and for the cold and the snow. I am happy about the good times in many PS but I was unlucky in others losing some positions in the Absolute rank. The season has just begun and the feeling with the bike is very positiveā€.
