World Enduro Championship 2018 - Finland

EXCELLENT START OF SEASON FOR STEVE HOLCOMBE IN THE FINLAND GP

Steve Holcombe has conquered an excellent third place in the general standing of the E3 class and a fourth place in the Enduro GP at the end of the inaugural GP of the Enduro World Championships that took place in Finland.

The opening day’s program provided the departure and the arrival in the town of Vierumaki with the route, as in tradition, articulated around the Lake Paijanne with sixteen special tests up for grabs and well over 400 km to travel for our riders.

On Sunday instead, there were twelve special tests planned by the organizers, always departing at the Vierumaki Arena and arriving in Helsinki Vantaa at the civil airport.

Steve Holcombe, as in the 2017 edition, was one of the protagonists of the race. In the two days of competition the British rider got a fourth and third place in the E3 class and two sixth places in the Enduro GP, following only Finnish riders.

In the E2 class our Christophe Charlier has concluded the two Finnish days with a ninth place in the general standing. The Corsican rider has harshly been tried by the rigid northern temperatures with peaks of up to fifteen degrees below zero and from the impervious conditions of the race track with deep channels dug by the snow.

A very good result also for Brad Freeman of the Team Beta Boano who completed the race with two third places in the E1 class and a tenth and a seventh place in the Enduro GP. Now Brad is second in the E1 general standing and seventh in the Enduro GP one.

The world season has officially opened the gates and now the commitments for the riders and the Team begin to thicken. During the next weekend the Beta Factory Enduro Team will take part fully, with all the riders Steve Holcombe and Christophe Charlier, at the second round of the Assoluti d’Italia di Enduro in Sanremo.

STEVE HOLCOMBE

"I started the day one with the idea of not risking and making as few mistakes as possible and after a long day of competition with more than twelve hours on the bike I was genuinely happy with the fourth place. The following day I managed to push even more thanks to slightly more congenial grounds and I got a third place in the E3 class. I am also satisfied with the fourth place in the Enduro GP general standing, the important thing was not to lose too many points and so it was ".

CHRISTOPHE CHARLIER

"This kind of ground is not congenial to my riding characteristics and during these two days I struggled a lot to be able to find a good pace. Now I have to file as soon as possible the GP of Finland and think about the next races, Assoluti and World Championship, and give my best ".
