BENJAMIN HERRERA STILL ON THE PODIUM IN E2

GP OF ITALY: STEVE HOLCOMBE WINS THE SECOND DAY OF COMPETITION IN E3 AND CATCH UP ON THE ENDURO GP

On the weekend of 22 and 23 June the Italian GP took place in the wonderful setting of Rovetta, in the famous and magnificent Valli Bergamasche.

The Motoclub Bergamo has designed, as usual, a tough and demanding race with four special tests: an enduro test, an extreme natural test and two cross tests, with a pressing time control.

Steve Holcombe arrived in Rovetta not in the best physical condition but, despite the problem that is debilitating him, he ran a heroic race.

On the first day Steve Holcombe pushed hard and fought for the first position but, due to two crashes, he missed the 1st place in the Enduro GP and in the E3 just for 6 hundredths of second.

The following day the English rider signed a great time in the first special, the Enduro test. Unfortunately, during the day he felt the tiredness but, thanks to his perseverance, he gained an excellent 4th place in the Enduro GP and the 1st one in the E3.

In this way Steve Holcombe caught up on Brad Freeman in the Enduro GP rank, in fact now there are just 4 points between the two riders.

Brad Freeman (Beta Boano Team) struggled during the weekend because during the last Gp he fractured his left collarbone: so he finished 7th and 10th in the Enduro GP, and 3rd in the E1.

Great weekend for Benjamin Herrera who replicated the last weekend in Greece. On the opening day, the Chilean rider took his second podium of the season in the E2 class, with a 3rd place (8th in the Enduro GP). The following day Benjamin Herrera collected a 5th class place and an excellent 8th place in the Enduro GP.

In the Enduro Youth, Matteo Pavoni (Beta Boano Team) took an amazing victory during the first day, while he finished 2nd on Sunday.

The next round of the FIM World Enduro GP Championship will take place in the Czech Republic, the 14 and 15 of September.

STEVE HOLCOMBE

« I gathered the few forces that remained from the Greek GP and brought them to Rovetta. The first day of the race went quite well, while in the second I was unable to remain on the top. Now a long stop and the hope of regaining strength and recovering « .

BENJAMIN HERRERA

« I am happy with the podium I got on the opening day, while on the second day I was not able to strike the decisive paw in the final. »
