Piersigilli dominates at Piccione, Fabián wins at Bochov and a clean sweep of podium places at Vagney.
A weekend of sheer determination, scorching heat and brilliant strategic acumen for the Beta team. Our riders had to contend with extreme temperatures, slippery terrain and last-minute changes to the schedule due to circumstances beyond our control. But when the going gets tough, Beta’s racing spirit really comes to the fore. Here’s the round-up of this weekend on the track!
The third round of the Beta single-make challenge literally set Piccione (Perugia) alight. Superbly organised by the Moto Club Ponte San Giovanni, the weekend was characterised by high temperatures, a huge turnout and a successful social evening on Saturday night, dedicated to the prize-giving ceremony for the first two rounds of the trophy. The riders tackled a technical 40-km course to be completed four times, featuring two special stages (a 3,500-metre enduro test and a 3-km cross test), each of which was also contested over four laps.
Once again, Luca Piersigilli stole the show in the highly competitive Top Class, delivering a commanding performance that enabled him to secure another crucial victory and extend his lead over his closest rivals in the overall standings. Behind him were Elia Pegoraro (2nd) and Federico Cipolat (3rd on a Beta 250 2T). In the other categories of the single-make championship, the following victories stood out:
• 125 2-stroke Class: Duccio Giraldi won ahead of Diego Sestini and Simone Fraticelli.
• 200 Class: Fabio Genini extended his lead in the championship thanks to a top-class performance, finishing ahead of Francesco Porzi and Luca Armelin.
• 300 Class: Matteo Manenti defended his season-long lead and flew the flag for Team NSM, completing the podium ahead of Lorenzo Cherubini and Niccolò Berretti.
• 4-Stroke Class: Leonardo Tonelli came out on top at the end of the eight special stages, ahead of Mirco Giorgini and Matteo Fantappié.
• Veteran & Super Veteran: Max Bacchetti wins the duel with Leonardo Oberhuber (3rd: Dario Gabielleschi), whilst Riccardo Giannettoni takes the Super Veteran title ahead of Paolo Lombardini and Fabrizio Lancini.
• Novices, Amateurs & 50: Tiziano Catarsi wins the Novices class (ahead of Verani and Pasquali), Cristian Stablum is the best of the Amateurs, whilst Bartek Scarfiello is the standout performer in the 50 class.
• Women’s: Aurora Pittaluga’s superb performance stood out; she was an excellent ambassador for the Lady Beta project, promoted by the Tuscan manufacturer to support female riders.
With the Piccione round, the Beta Enduro Master officially enters its summer break, ready to shake up the standings again in September.
The round of the Czech National Championship in Bochov took place on an extremely technical natural course through the woods, characterised by large rocks, blind jumps and treacherous exits. David Fabián, riding his Beta Sincro Factory 300, displayed surgical precision, dominating the top positions in both the top-tier TR1 category and the Junior class on both days of competition. David’s performance on Saturday was close to absolute perfection:
“On Saturday I rode brilliantly; I felt comfortable on the bike and managed to complete the entire race without any penalty points, so I didn’t make any mistakes. On Sunday the course was more demanding, but I managed to avoid any serious errors and win the top category for the second time this weekend.”
The second round of the French Enduro Championship, held at Vagney (88), proved to be a decidedly unusual challenge. The high risk of fire in the area forced the organisers to shorten the race for safety reasons. Despite the emergency conditions and the shortened course, the nine riders from Team Atomic Moto Beta returned home with an excellent result, featuring podium finishes and outstanding lap times:
• Dorian Simon (Junior 2): He confirmed his extraordinary form by securing a magnificent one-two (1st on both Saturday and Sunday) in the Junior 2/3 category, cementing his status as the class leader.
• Mauricette Brisebard (Women’s): On Saturday she was left disappointed, finishing fourth due to a mistake on the first special stage that cost her a podium place, but on Sunday she reclaimed the crown with a spirited comeback, clinching her first well-deserved victory of the season.
• Clément Clauzier (Elite E2): On Saturday, he put in a superb performance, finishing with an excellent second place in the Elite E2 class; on Sunday, despite suffering from some physical problems, he gritted his teeth and secured a solid fourth place, giving him the right boost ahead of the EnduroGP in France.
• Diego Haution (Elite E3): He made a spectacular return to the paddock, securing an excellent third place in the top-tier Elite E3 class on Saturday.
