Snow, sand, and large arenas: a weekend to remember for Beta riders.
No matter what the challenge: whether it’s the icy Finnish trails, the fast South African sandy tracks, or the treacherous logs of the SuperEnduro World Championship, the attitude remains the same.
The weekend just gone saw the bikes from Rignano sull’Arno take center stage in all conditions and at all latitudes. Between crushing victories, podiums fought for until the last corner, and dream debuts, here’s how our riders tamed the most extreme terrains on the planet.
The fifth round of the 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship took place at the Belgrade Arena in Serbia, providing a weekend of great entertainment.
In the Prestige class, Alfredo Gómez had a difficult evening, marked by some unfortunate crashes that prevented him from expressing his full potential, finishing in 10th place overall. However, the Spanish rider’s determination was not lacking, as demonstrated by his excellent holeshot in the second heat, confirming his consistently high speed. “It wasn’t my best evening, but I’m happy to have taken the holeshot in the second final,” commented Gómez, who, thanks to the points he collected, still climbs to seventh place in the overall championship standings. Also in the premier class, Tim Apolle put in a solid performance, finishing ninth overall.
There was great satisfaction in the youth classes. In the Junior category, an excellent Fraiser Lampkin took the third step on the podium, confirming the English rider’s very high level. Felix Bähker also continued his positive trend, finishing with an excellent sixth place overall: “Another step forward, I feel more and more in shape. See you next week in Newcastle,” said the German.
In the Youth category, Eneko Martínez shone, taking his second podium of the season with a fantastic 2nd place overall, just missing out on victory. “I am very happy and grateful to have achieved my second podium. Now we are very close to the main goal: victory.” It was a good world debut for Czech rider Samuel Stuchlík, who finished ninth overall, while it was an unlucky evening for Fynn Hannemann (10th overall, penalized by a retirement in the third heat due to a crash) and Ramón Godino, forced to retire in the final 3 due to a persistent shoulder problem. The team is now looking forward with confidence to the next round in Newcastle, ready to fight for even higher positions.
The Finnish Enduro Championship kicked off on Saturday in Sysmä, in challenging weather conditions characterized by soft snow and exposed rocks, a terrain that required absolute precision and consistency.
Team Beta Racing Suomi literally dominated the opening race. Peetu Juupaluoma was the star of the day, delivering an exceptional performance with solid, error-free riding: he took overall victory and the top step of the podium in the A2 class.
Beta’s success was completed in the A3 class, where our riders monopolized the top positions with a fantastic double podium: Juho Ahokas took the class victory (1st A3) managing the race with great maturity, followed closely by his teammate Oskari Vuori (2nd A3). A perfect start to the season ahead of the next round, the legendary and grueling Päijänteen ympäriajo, scheduled in three weeks’ time.
Beta’s triumphant weekend continued in South Africa, where James Moore took a splendid victory in Port Elizabeth. The race took place on a sandy and unusually fast track (averaging around 40 km/h), very different from the slow and technical terrain usually preferred by Moore. In addition to the high speeds, the course proved to be extremely bumpy, rocky, and physically demanding.
The event also marked Moore’s eagerly awaited debut on his new Beta 300. Despite the uncertainties typical of debuts and the limited time available for set-up, the feeling was immediately winning: the bike showed enormous potential, allowing James to engage in spectacular duels with the best South African riders and cross the finish line in first place overall.
“Although fast conditions are not my specialty, the course was well marked and fun,” commented Moore, enthusiastic about this triumphant return to racing after the seasonal break.
