48 Hours at Full Throttle: Geerts Steps Up, Pando Takes Silver, Gomez Revs Up.

Three time zones. Three disciplines. One goal: pushing to the limit. The weekend just ended didn’t give us a moment’s rest. We saw the MXGP battle through Andalusian mud, Spanish Enduro rev up its engines in Extremadura, and Arizona’s rocks put Hard Enduro to the test. No beating around the bush—let’s get straight to the track results!

MXGP & EMX250: Geerts on the rise, a mixed weekend for Fueri in Andalusia

The FIM Motocross World Championship returned to Europe, landing on the medium-soft track of Almonte, Spain. Riding his Beta RX 450, Jago Geerts showed encouraging progress. After an unlucky start in Race 1 (which he still finished in 14th place), the Belgian rider found a great rhythm in Race 2, finishing 13th and securing 14th place overall for the day. “Compared to Argentina, we’ve made a lot of improvements. The feel with the bike was great, and I could have been even faster,” commented Geerts, visibly satisfied with the direction taken in development.

In the EMX250 European Championship, Alexis Fueri (Beta RX 250 2T) experienced a round of ups and downs. The French rider delivered a masterful performance in the first race, fighting his way back from the rear of the pack to a fantastic 6th-place finish. Unfortunately, a spectacular crash in Race 2 (fortunately without physical consequences) forced him to finish 30th, relegating him to 13th place overall. “It’s hard to accept after all the hard work we put into preparation, but we have plenty of opportunities ahead of us to make up for it,” said Fueri. The next event for the Beta MRT Racing Team will be in Frauenfeld for the Swiss Grand Prix.

Spanish Enduro Championship: Silver in Valdecaballeros

After an eight-year absence, the Spanish Enduro Championship returned to Extremadura for a technically demanding round made even more treacherous by Friday’s rain.

The Beta Trueba Enduro Factory team fielded a reduced lineup due to injuries to Godino, Rojas, and Irigoyen, but the riders on the track did not disappoint. The team’s standout performer was Julio Pando, who secured a highly valuable silver double (2nd place on both Saturday and Sunday) in the E3 class. “It was a tough weekend where I struggled to find my rhythm due to several crashes, but I still managed to finish second on both days and pick up important points,” explained the Asturian.

Pau Tomàs delivered an extremely solid performance in the competitive E2 class, finishing 5th and 6th on the two days, confirming himself as the team’s fastest rider in the overall standings. In the Junior 125cc 2-stroke class, young Guillem Sucarrats narrowly missed the podium with two fourth-place finishes—an excellent result considering he is just four months out of surgery. The Iberian championship continues and will return to Antas, in Almería, on April 18 and 19.

Hard Enduro: Gomez revs up in Arizona

The motorsports weekend also saw Beta colors take center stage overseas, in Page, Arizona, for the spectacular Grinding Stone Hard Enduro.

Alfredo Gomez (AG Racing Team) had a mixed race, finishing 11th overall. “I got off to a great start in the leading group, but then unfortunately I crashed and damaged the bike a bit,” said the Spanish rider. “The damage was fixed quickly, but I couldn’t get back into the right rhythm.”

The race served primarily as a test in preparation for the true, major goal of the season: the Hard Enduro World Championship. Gomez and the team are now fully focused on the first round of the World Championship, the Alestreme, scheduled for April 17–19 in France.

With these rounds behind us, there’s no time to look back. The clock starts from zero, and the calendar makes no exceptions for anyone. Next stop: Frauenfeld and Antas. We’re already ready!
