Freeman Wins the Foreign Riders’ Title at the Italian Enduro Championships, Beta Shines at the Trial des Nations, and Hard Enduro Podium in Romania

Another weekend of top-level competition has cemented Beta riders’ success on multiple international fronts. From the finale of the Italian Enduro Championship in Fabriano to the rocky sections of the Trial des Nations in Spain, and through the grueling Hard Enduro challenges in Lesotho and Romania, our riders battled it out until the very last meter, bringing home titles, medals, and extraordinary comebacks. Here’s the full recap of the weekend.

Italian Enduro Championships: Freeman Wins the Foreigners’ Class and Finishes as Overall Runner-Up in Fabriano

The final round of the 2026 Italian Enduro Championships took place in Fabriano, organized by Motoclub Artiglio under the supervision of Track Inspector Mario Rinaldi. The challenging 50-km course—comprising an artificial Extreme Test on hard terrain, a downhill cross test, and a fast enduro test in the woods—put the competitors to the test across a total of 22 special stages, kicking off with the traditional Friday Super Test. Brad Freeman delivered an exceptionally consistent performance: after posting the second-fastest time in the Super Test, the British rider finished fifth on Saturday and sixth on Sunday in the Overall standings (securing a third- and fourth-place finish for the day in the Foreign Riders class). These results allowed him to be crowned Foreign Riders Class Champion and to claim a prestigious second-place finish in the Overall standings. Brad Freeman: “After a long season, I managed to secure second place overall and the Italian championship title in the Foreigners class. Together with my teammate, we’ll be competing in the next edition of the Six Days, where we’ll try to win the trophy with the British national team.” Nathan Watson also had an excellent showing, finishing sixth on Saturday and fourth on Sunday in the overall standings (fourth and second in the Foreigners class). Watson finished the championship in fourth place overall and third in the Foreigners class. Nathan Watson: “We’re ending the season with a fourth-place overall finish and a third-place finish in the Foreigners class. Now I’ll focus all my energy on performing well at the Six Days with the British national team.”

Trial des Nations: Beta riders lead their respective national teams to the podium in Arteixo

The 2026 edition of the Trial des Nations took place on the Spanish track in Arteixo, a team competition in which Beta riders played a starring role while representing their respective national teams. In the Women’s Trial des Nations, Andrea Sofia Rabino led the Italian team in a race marked by relentless aggression. With just 14 total penalty points at the end of a razor-thin duel with Great Britain (which won with 7 penalty points), Italy was crowned World Runner-Up, clearly outpacing Spain, which finished third with 50 penalty points. In the Men’s Trial des Nations, Spain, led by Beta rider Jaime Busto, took first place with 27 penalty points. Great Britain (65 penalty points) took the second spot on the podium with Beta riders Harry and George Hemingway. The Italian team secured a thrilling bronze medal thanks to the ever-reliable Matteo Grattarola: the Azzurri team claimed third place with 94 penalty points, edging out France by a single point at the end of a battle that was decided in the very last section.

Hard Enduro: Moore Comes Close to a Feat at the Roof of Africa, Kornel 2nd at Golden Mountain

The weekend also delivered bursts of pure adrenaline on the extreme racing front: • Roof of Africa (Lesotho): Starting the race to defend his 2025 title, James Moore got off to the best possible start by winning the first day. However, an unexpected mechanical issue with his rear wheel on Day 2 cost him about an hour and twenty minutes, sending him to the back of the pack before a furious climb back up to 13th place for the day (11th overall). On the third and final day, Moore drew on all his pride, delivering a standout performance and claiming the stage victory. His overall results (1st, 13th, 1st) earned him an incredible 5th place overall, before flying to Turkey for the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. • Golden Mountain Hard Enduro (Romania): In the final round of the Romanian Hard Enduro Championship, Ott Kornel finished three days of intense racing in 2nd place overall (with a 2nd-place finish on Day 1, 1st on Day 2, and 2nd on Day 3), claiming the silver medal in the Championship’s Open class. Stefan Popescu also delivered a solid performance, finishing in 5th position overall for Beta Romania.

With the conclusion of the Italian Enduro Championship and the medals won in the Trial des Nations and Hard Enduro, the racing season is heading toward its flagship events. Beta’s riders and technicians are already hard at work preparing for the upcoming international challenges, starting with the upcoming Six Days and the Hard Enduro World Championship round in Turkey.
