Positive weekend for Watson in MXGP, Dufrese rises in X-Trial

Challenging but constructive weekend for Beta Factory riders, protagonists in the international rounds of the X-Trial World Championship and MXGP.
Among technical passages and challenging weather conditions, our riders showed determination and signs of growth. Here is how the weekend went.

X-Trial – Round 7

Cahors, France | Hugo Dufrese – 8th in Q1, 4th in Q2

In the prestigious Parc des Expositions du Grand Cahors, in Occitania, the seventh stage of the X-Trial World Championship 2025 was staged.
Hugo Dufrese, riding his Beta, showed good technical skills despite struggling to manage the tension in some key moments. After finishing eighth in Q1, he upped the pace in Q2, taking fourth place just two seconds behind third.
A few too many mistakes prevented him from climbing further up the classification, but the direction is the right one. Now all eyes will be on the next stage, where Hugo will be able to capitalise on the experience he has gathered.

Next Race: 18th of March – FIM des Nations, France

MXGP – European GP

Saint Jean d’Angely, France | Ben Watson 11th | Tom Koch 21st

Round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025 for the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory, engaged on the historic French track of Saint Jean d’Angely.
Ben Watson confirmed positive signs compared to the previous GP, despite two difficult starts. After the 23rd time in qualifying, he finished the heats in 14th and 12th, taking 11th overall for the day and gaining a position in the overall standings, now 15th.
‘The weekend started well, the feeling with the bike was very good. In qualifying I found a good pace, but on Sunday the starts penalised me. I am satisfied with my riding, but I still have to work to improve.’
Tom Koch had a more complicated weekend, affected by a crash in the second heat. He finished 23rd and 17th respectively, ending the weekend in 21st place overall.
‘Again a wet weekend, with difficult track conditions. In practice I felt good, but in the race I made a few mistakes and struggled to find the right rhythm. Now we will use the weekend off to train in the sand and be ready for the next race.’
